Alejandra Martinez Cortes

Alejandra Martinez Cortes is a multidisciplinary artist with a main focus on film and digital photography; she includes darkroom prints, archives, and mixed media. Her art is a direct response to her confusion about discriminatory actions towards her family and her as a Mexican girl born and raised in Los Angeles. Martinez’s work is a way to pay homage to her city and the people living in it. It's her form of creating an appreciative narrative for what her community has to offer and what is constantly being misconstrued by privileged folks.  Martinez currently resides in Los Angeles and is doing her undergrad at UCLA in Fine Arts 2024-2028.
